Årets siste fjellbad?

Sommar i september er fantastisk!

Etter ein shoppingtur til Spar Eikefjorden, måtte eg berre ta ein kjapp stopp, midt på Norddalsfjordbrua, for å forevige denne vakre dalen vi bur i. 

Eit bilde klarar ikkje fange opp kor vakkert det er her, ein septemberdag i solskin, men eit "nice try".

Idet eg kom til Haukå krysset, inngangen til Norddalsfjorden, vart det eit nytt stopp. 

Myr og vatn i fargesprakane, nydelige haustfargar.....vakkert! (Mangla berre hjortane, som ofte går her)

Ny gateadresse får vi og, eingong....

På impuls stoppar eg ved kyrkjegården, skal eg ta ein trimtur til Likkjevatnet? Ser nokre damer allerede er på veg, så freistinga vart for stor. Eg sendte mld til gubben og sa at måtte berre....

Damene nådde eg att, medan dei konstanterte at her var nokre fine julatre. 

Eg foreslo at dei kunne ta med eit heim og sjå om det sto seg til jul....

Nesten oppe. 

Eg tok av frå vegen for å kome bort til nausta, antakelig Nordalingane sine. 

Hjorteråser er tingen, dei ledar ein plass. 

Hit. 

Lufta, så klar og frisk, med eit hint av mint. Elva som sildrar og fosseduren i det fjerne. Lyden av fjell. Så nær livet ved fjorden, men likevel så magisk ensomt. Som om eg er langtvekkistan inni fjellheimen!

Elveutløpet. Her må det vel vere fint å fiske? Ein annan gong, for stanga var dessverre ikkje med....

På ein liten stein, ut i der, sat ein fugl og fulgte meg, men han visste nok at han var trygg...

 Så blått...og lokkande! Er det kaldt?

Eg måtte berre...heiv av meg klea, og lot vatnet kjøla skrotten. 

Skal ikkje skryta på meg noko, det var ei kjapp avkjøling! 

Men septemberbad!

Søndagstur til Nordalsstøylen

Latskapen lenge rår, så eg køyrde 3,24 km på nybygd traktorveg. Godt vi har Amrocen! Så gjekk vi nesten ein km på 40 langsomme minutt. Måtte jo stoppe og ta bilder! Vakker vakker utsikt!

Måtte jo dele nista med verdas beste Princess! 

Faroe Island

Next destination; a green island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean; Faroe Island.

Ahead of Northern Ireland's clash at Windsor Park tonight, Joanne Fleming uncovers interesting facts about the rivals.

1. Irish hermit monks, are now thought to be the earliest settlers of the Faroe Islands. They arrived in the sixth century, bringing with them sheep as well as early Irish language. The Vikings landed by 900AD.

2. The Faroe Islands, formed by volcanic activity 30 million years ago, are now a cultural melting pot with 77 nationalities among its population of only 48,000.

3. The Faroe Islands are one of very few countries in Europe to have no McDonalds outlets. You can, however, find a Burger King, in Torshavn if you're in need of a fast food fix.

Best experience is to visit someone, and get proper local food. Here we visit my parents in law. She is an excellent cook. 

Boys wanted the ordinary; burgers in Runarvik. A nice café with very nice staff. 

If you want try traditional food, whale meat (grind) is a must!

4. The country's football team won their first competitive match against Austria in September 1990, which prompted a massive Faroese party.

5. There are three traffic lights on the Faroe Islands. All are in the capital Torshavn and are very close to each other.

6. Crime doesn't appear to be rife. There is no prison on the Faroe Islands and any long-term prisoners get sent off to Denmark.

7. Streymin bridge is the only bridge over the Atlantic Ocean in the world, connecting the island Streymoy to Eysturoy.

8. The Faroese language, spoken by all Faroese people, is most similar to Icelandic and the now extinct Old Norse language. English is also widely spoken, especially among the younger people.

9. Not sure where the Faroe Islands are exactly? They lie northwest of Scotland and halfway between Iceland and Norway. It is composed of 18 individual islands covering 545 square miles, 70 miles long and 46 miles wide, roughly in the shape of an arrow-head. On the islands you are never more than three miles from the ocean.

10. Star player Gunnar Nielsen, a goalkeeper for the Scottish team Motherwell, is the only footballer from the Faroe Islands to play in a Premier League. Manchester City is among his former clubs.

11. Birdwatching is popular. There are many puffins to see – around 10 times as many as there are humans – plus oystercatchers and other rare birds.

12. Your most likely company out and about is sheep. Some farmers have started putting reflective straps on their sheeps' legs so they won't get run over in bad weather and poor visibility.

13. The Faroe Islands are not far from the southern end of the Arctic Circle. Considering their high latitude, the islands are not as cold as you might expect, with average temperatures of 3C in winter and 11C in summer.

14. Considered to have a 'fairytale' landscape, the Faroe Islands are covered by a blindingly green grassland that carpet the islands from the base up to the highest mountains, although few trees survive because of the North Atlantic winds.

15. National Geographic recently elected the Faroe Islands as the world's most appealing island community, out of 111 island destinations worldwide. They are noted for their friendliness.

16. The weather in the islands changes so quickly and frequently that a well-known Faroese saying is 'If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes'.

Ein veit jo aldri om skoa er gode før dei er testa ute!

Nye fjellsko, og desse må jo testast og gåast inn. 

Rundtur over øya-skogsvegen-Reset-Svanevatnet. 

Starta turen heima. Gjekk vegen over øya, hovedvegen 2-300 m før eg tok av på skogsvegen. Der står skilt. 

 Eg fylgde skogsvegen til endes, og der var det utsikt inn over vakre Nordalsfjorden; Solheim og Midtbø.

Litt lenger oppe såg eg ned att på øya og brua. 

Litt vanskelig å halde stien innover, kunne godt vore betre merka. Men vi fann no fram, Princess og eg. 

Eg elskar lukta av skog, lyng og fjell! *lykke*

Vakker furu, prega av vêr og vind. Nett som livet sjølv!

Så kom vi fram til Svanevatnet. 

Desse to øyane gjekk eg over til når isen låg tjukk.... Det er SÅ fint her!

Uti her landa ein meteoritt på 70 talet. (Den er aldri funnen, så kom å leit! Det ligg ei bøye her som er eit merke på kor den landa)

Vi måtte bade litt, herlig!

Skikkelig ur eit lite stykke på vegen ned frå Svanevatnet. Og utsikta!!

Om du vil gå motsatt veg, så står dette skiltet ved hovedvegen. Rett etter ei sjøbu og ei bru. Fiskekort kan kjøpast på sms. Mykje fin fisk i vatna oppi her, så anbefalast!

Om ein vil fiske ved elva/sjøen.
